The Vesper is a very simple geometric sculpture composed of brushed aluminum, American black walnut, and white polymer. The light not only washes up and down the wall but also filters out through the composition, exhibiting the fixture's depth in three dimensions.

I wanted to create a simple geometric sculpture that lets the light inside just sneak out around the floating walnut planes - letting the natural wood fall in and out of the light. It is this play with contrast and light and shadow that makes the Abeo such a dynamic piece.
The Aeris was a collaboration with New York based designer Frank Carfaro of Desiron. The organic and often wild swirls of walnut grain are interrupted by rigorous slits and inlays that punctuate each face to create a beautiful Juxtaposition, making each fixture unique . The Volo 36 Flush mount design transcends and blurs the lines where art and utility meet. It is composed of familiar shapes of varied sizes and materials. We scrutinized the nuanced proportions to ensure the original form was not compromised by simply scaling up every dimension. The result is a balanced and voluminous light fixture that produces a beautiful quality of light. Similar to the Volo 18 and 24, the 36 use of metal, solid hardwood, and leather is luxurious and also feels natural and warm. The care and craftsmanship that go into making each Cerno fixture is really on display when admiring the Volo.
Veris was a concept we started exploring ten years ago. Two offset layers of petals simultaneously shield the light source while allowing reflected light to wash the inside petals, creating a dramatic ambient luminaire. The form materializes through a series of processes that utilize cutting edge CNC laser technology but still rely on skilled hand-rolling and bending of the aluminum petals.

Three primary parts, the light, the hubs, and the wood slats, compose the form, function, and feel. The laws of attraction are often mysterious, and Lex's ability to appear both solid and porous simultaneously creates a sense of intrigue and freshness.
