The lens is a one-piece heavy gauge precision extruded of clear, light stabilized polycarbonate LEXAN®, with prismatic bottom and longitudinal side prisms directing side light upward, out of the glare zone. LEXAN® has extremely high impact strength and is almost impossible to break, removable by removal of the end caps. Several lumen packages and color temperatures are offered to suit any need and there are a multitude of options including an emergency battery pack, occupancy sensor and tamperproof screws. Hemera was approached to customize its Monaco ceiling fixture to integrate BIOS SkyBlue lighting technology with circadian regulation for the renovation of the Geriatric Emergency department at the San Diego Thornton Hospital. The Monaco is ideal for healthcare applications as it is built robust with cleanable materials, it is a closed shade made with thermoformed acrylic and removable bottom polycarbonate disc to access concealed LED and driver module. Hemera designed a custom cluster to integrate the BIOS LED engines, colour shifting controller, LED driver, and ensure even illumination.
